Using Avast Anti-Virus?

Issue: The Avast anti-virus program changes the executable after each auto update. Privatefirewall generates a new alert for each "unknown" executable it detects even though the Avast application is "Trusted". This issue can be overcome by making an adjustment to ICMP settings as outlined in the steps listed below.

Allow ICMP Protocol within the 'High' security setting. To do so:

1) In Privatefirewall, Go to Applications.

2) Double-click on System Services.

3) Under "Low level settings for incoming ICMP messages", check the box under 'H' (High security setting).
