Privacyware Incorporates CA's eTrust PestPatrol to Deliver Exceptional Desktop Protection from Spyware, Hackers and Malicious Code

Red Bank, NJ – June 2, 2005 – Privacyware, an innovative provider of advanced threat prevention and security data analysis solutions, today announced the integration of Computer Associates International, Inc.’s (CA) eTrust PestPatrol Anti-Spyware technology with Privatefirewall 4.0, the latest licensing option of its powerful, affordable, and easy-to-use Personal Firewall and Desktop Protection software.

With the inclusion of CA’s spyware knowledgebase and detection and removal technology, Privacyware’s desktop security solution provides an immediate and complete defense between the Internet and the PC that helps keep hackers, malware, and spyware from damaging computing systems and accessing private information. Privatefirewall, automatically, hides unused ports, assigns rules for commonly used applications, and thoroughly inspects inbound and outbound traffic to identify and disable malicious or unauthorized connections.

“While businesses of all sizes recognize that they have to protect their IT environments at all levels from a wide range of threats, the cost and complexity of doing so is a major concern,” said Sam Curry, vice president of eTrust security management at CA. “By enhancing Privatefirewall with CA’s state-of-the-art spyware protection technology, Privacyware’s single, easy-to-administer solution provides both enhanced protection and reduced total cost of ownership.”

Key Privatefirewall Features include: – One-click configuration of pre-defined security settings for Home, Office, and Mobile – Comprehensive Application and URL Control, Firewall, and Packet-Filtering capabilities – Stealth Mode makes PC invisible on the Internet – Detailed reports for Internet, System, and Email traffic – Email Anomaly Detection mitigates impact of malware targeting email clients – Simplified User Interface provides painless advanced configuration control.

"Given the increasing spread and threat of spyware, the CA anti-spyware solution provided us with an immediate and very powerful way to expand Privatefirewall's defense capabilities and deliver greater security to our customers,” stated Privacyware CEO, Greg Salvato.. “Privatefirewall with the CA anti-spyware enhancement is a cohesive, affordable and exceptionally formidable asset for managing the most urgent security challenges facing individual and corporate PC environments today."

Privatefirewall w/ PestPatrol is available for purchase via the Privacyware web site: http://www.privacyware.com/personal_firewall.html for US$39.95. Multi-user packs and associated pricing for small business are also available.
