Privacyware Releases Upgrade of Award-winning Behavioral Anomaly Detection and Intrusion Prevention Software

-Privacyware, an innovative provider of desktop and host defense and enterprise security data analysis solutions, today released ThreatSentry 3.0, a multi-layered Host Intrusion Prevention software application designed to protect Microsoft IIS Web servers from known and new types attacks and unauthorized use.

Red Bank, NJ (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) December 21, 2005 -- Privacyware, an innovative provider of desktop and host defense and enterprise security data analysis solutions, today released ThreatSentry 3.0, a multi-layered Host Intrusion Prevention software application designed to protect Microsoft IIS Web servers from known and new type attacks and unauthorized use. Key enhancements to ThreatSentry 3.0 includes increased protection from zero-day threats and expanded administrative features that enable network security personnel to more effectively define and manage malicious and/or permissible activity within the host environment.

"Privacyware’s implementations of specialized behavioral anomaly detection technologies are the primary factors that differentiate our intrusion prevention and anomaly analysis solutions,” said Privacyware Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Konstantin Malkov. “In ThreatSentry 3.0, we’ve added adjustable lexicographic sub-string matching for HTTP requests and their parameters, enabling more intricate request inspection and therefore more effective detection of complex application level threats."

ThreatSentry is comprised of two core components. The first, an advanced Application Firewall, is pre-configured with known exploitive techniques and attack characteristics which the administrator can enhance with guidelines and rules unique to their environment. The application firewall is coupled with an advanced neural-based Behavioral Engine that organizes server requests into a multi-dimensional baseline of typical system activity. Each server connection is scrutinized by the rule-set established in the application firewall and the behavioral baseline to identify and take action against any activity falling outside trusted parameters.

“Privacyware is focused on protecting corporate data and delivering effective, proactive intrusion prevention from internal, external, known and new threats to desktop and host computers,” said Greg Salvato, Chief Executive Officer for Privacyware. “The proprietary behavioral analysis capabilities embedded in ThreatSentry 3.0 offer the security and compliance practitioner an exceptional IIS server defense mechanism unequaled in capabilities, performance and value.”

ThreatSentry is available for purchase or 30-day trial download via the Privacyware web site: http://www.privacyware.com/intrusion_prevention.html or through an authorized Privacyware reseller. ThreatSentry pricing starts at $399 per server. Volume pricing is available by calling 732-212-8110 x235. To locate a reseller, please visit Privacyware at http://www.privacyware.com/sales.html. ThreatSentry supports Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 and Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0/6.0 platforms.
