Privacyware Named to CRN Emerging Tech Vendors List

— Leading Channel Authority Recognizes Innovative IIS Web Application Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Solution Provider —

RED BANK, NJ – July 2, 2008 – Privacyware (http://www.privacyware.com), an innovative provider of web application security, intrusion prevention and security data analytics software, today announced it has been selected by Everything Channel as a CRN Emerging Tech Vendor for ThreatSentry, its IIS Web Application Firewall and Intrusion Prevention solution.

“Web application security ranks among the most immediate and critical challenges facing systems administrators today,” said Privacyware CEO Greg Salvato. “ThreatSentry enables Privacyware to deliver award-winning IIS defense and reinforce PCI DSS compliance while ensuring high margins, specialized differentiation and exceptional support for our expanding network of channel partners. We are very grateful to Everything Chanel for their recognition of Privacyware and the opportunity it provides us to connect with new partners as a CRN Emerging Technology Vendor.”

CRN’s list of emerging technology vendors provides exposure for up-and-coming companies to solution providers who realize the importance of adding fresh and innovative technologies to their portfolios. As many as 60 percent of solution providers plan to add an emerging vendor’s solutions as part of their product offerings this year. Privacyware’s award-winning IIS Web Application Firewall and Host Intrusion Prevention solution, ThreatSentry, addresses the rising frequency and severity of SQL Injection, cross-site scripting other web-based threats and helps clients achieve compliance with section 6.6 of the Data Security Standard (DSS).

According to CRN's Emerging Tech Survey, the top reasons channel partners add emerging technologies include: the technology is superior to other products in the market segment; the technology complements a channel partner's existing practice areas; emerging vendors provide better services opportunities; emerging vendors pay better attention to partners; emerging vendors offer higher margins, customers want alternative product choices; and emerging vendors have better joint marketing programs. In addition, 61 percent of channel partners surveyed plan to increase the number of emerging technology vendors they partner with in the next 12 months.

"New and innovative vendor partners can help spur profitable new ideas that Solution Providers can use to build revenue and customer loyalty, and the CRN Emerging Tech list is where Solution Providers go to find these vendors," said Robert C. Demarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel editorial.

An ISAPI filter hosted in MMC, ThreatSentry is comprised of a Web Application Firewall and behavior-based Intrusion prevention component founded on specialized artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies specifically designed to address internal and external unauthorized system access and cyber-criminal threats on Web servers utilizing Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

ThreatSentry detects and blocks known and new attacks and unwanted web application traffic and also helps customers comply with section 6.6 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Other key ThreatSentry features include email alert notification, compliance and security reporting, centralized management for multiple servers and protection from an array of documented exploitive techniques including SQL Injection, Directory Traversal, Cross-site scripting, Parameter Manipulation, Buffer Overflow, Denial of Service, and other exploitive techniques.

ThreatSentry supports Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 and Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0/6.0 and is available for purchase at $649 per server.
